Генерал-лейтенант Валерий Иванов был назначен командующим войсками оперативно-стратегического командования воздушно-космической обороны России (ОСК ВКО). Об этом сегодня сообщил главнокомандующий ВВС генерал-полковник Александр Зелин. Сам Зелин и представлял офицерам управления командования воздушно-космической обороны РФ нового командующего войсками.
Отметим, что до этого назначения Иванов возглавлял Дальневосточное объединение ВВС и ПВО. Однако в середине октября на этом посту его сменил Сергей Дронов.
ОСК ВКО – довольно молодая структура. О её создании стало известно в июле 2009 года. Приказ о создании ОСК ВКО был принят в рамках реформы российской армии, инициированной президентом РФ Дмитрием Медведевым.
