По словам Путина, на июль этого года общий вылов водных биоресурсов составил около 2,5 миллиона тонн. «Это больше, чем за аналогичный период прошлого года», — сказал он.
Вместе с тем Путин подчеркнул, что главным показателем успеха является рост доли отечественной продукции на внутреннем рынке.
Он заявил, что вопросы развития рыбохозяйственного комплекса являются приоритетными, и отметил, что, «несмотря на ограниченность возможностей федерального бюджета, правительство приняло решение сохранить объемы финансирования отраслевой федеральной целевой программы».
