Как отмечают в компании, партнеры заключили сделку по равноценному обмену волоконно-оптическими линиями связи (ВОЛС) протяженностью около 3 тыс. км. для каждой стороны. В рамках соглашения «ВымпелКом» приобретает в собственность у «Синтерры» оптоволоконные ресурсы на Кавказе, а также в Приволжском, Северо-Западном и Центральном регионах, а «Синтерра» у «ВымпелКома» — на Юге, Урале, в Сибири и Поволжье.
По словам генерального директора ОАО «ВымпелКом» Александра Торбахова, «соглашение стало очередным шагом в нашем стратегическом партнерстве с «Синтеррой». «Приобретение в собственность волоконно-оптических линий связи дает возможность «ВымпелКому» расширить собственную магистральную сеть, которая сегодня имеет общую протяженность около 80 тыс.км. на всех ее уровнях, — рассказывает он. — Использование единой сетевой инфраструктуры позволяет нам предоставлять качественные услуги клиентам во всех регионах России».
