Бренд "Комстар" не будет использоваться "Мобильными телесистемами" (МТС) с 2010 года. Об этом заявил президент МТС Михаил Шамолин, сообщает Прайм-ТАСС. Отказ от бренда вызван процессом интеграции бизнесов МТС и "Комстара".
Объединенная компания будет использовать только бренды МТС, а также МГТС в Москве. Что касается бренда "Комстар", то он сохранится лишь для предоставления услуг в бизнес-сегменте в столице. Решение о бренде интернет-провайдера "Стрим" пока не принято.
Слияние МТС, крупнейшего оператора сотовой связи в России, и "Комстара", предоставляющего услуги фиксированной связи более чем 9 миллионам абонентов, состоялось в 2009 году. МТС подала в ФАС заявку на покупку "Комстара" в конце мая 2009 года, а тремя месяцами спустя получила разрешение на это. Сделка была завершена 12 октября, ее сумма составила 1,27 миллиарда долларов.
C учетом дочерних структур в странах СНГ общая абонентская база МТС превышает 99,5 миллиона пользователей. По итогам первого квартала текущего года выручка компании составила 1,8 миллиарда долларов. Для сравнения, выручка "Комстара" за весь 2008 года была равна 1,6 миллиарда долларов. Главным акционером обеих компаний является АФК "Система".
