Президент Эквадора Рафаэль Корреа объявил в стране дефолт, заявив, что она не выплатит более 30 миллионов долларов по иностранным облигациям, которые он назвал нелегитимными, сообщило в пятницу агентство Франс Пресс.
Корреа также заявил, что готов «противостоять международным искам», которые, возможно, будут направлены против его страны после решения о невыплате процентных ставок по глобальным облигациям со сроком погашения в 2012 году. Эти выплаты Эквадор должен сделать в понедельник, 15 декабря.
«Я отдал приказ не выплачивать процентную ставку, поэтому страна в дефолте из-за неуплаты ее внешнего долга», — заявил Корреа журналистам. Кроме того, Корреа призвал реструктуризировать внешний долг своей страны.
