Как отметил координатор профсоюза Ли Конрад, увольнения коснулись каждого подразделения в каждом офисе. В частности, сферу продажи покинули 222 сотрудника, а из подразделения, которое занимается разработкой полупроводников, ушли 165 человек. Увольнения связаны с программой реструктуризации компании, о которой стало известно в апреле этого года. Планируется, что сокращения рабочих мест коснутся не только рядовых работников, но и членов руководства. Всего же на реструктуризацию IBM потребуется $1 млрд.
