Французский сатирический журнал Charlie Hebdo опубликовал карикатуры с обнаженным пророком Мухаммедом, сообщает Agence France-Presse.

О намерениях Charlie Hebdo опубликовать карикатуры стало известно за день до выхода номера, 18 сентября.
Публикация карикатур в Charlie Hebdo происходит на фоне беспорядков в мусульманских странах Африки, Ближнего Востока и Азии, вызванных выходом любительского американского фильма «Невинность мусульман». Фильм, создателем которого оказался ранее судимый мошенник, рассказывает альтернативную версию жизни пророка Мухаммеда.
Charlie Hebdo ранее неоднократно публиковал карикатуры на пророка Мухаммеда. В ноябре 2011 это привело к поджогу здания редакции.
