Президент России Владимир Путин подписал указ об отставке губернатора Рязанской области Олега Ковалева, сообщают в пресс-службе Кремля. При этом сообщается, что Ковалев останется исполняющим обязанности главы региона.
Губернатор Рязанской области покидает пост на особых условиях: впервые главе региона удалось договориться с Кремлем о своем дальнейшем участии в выборах на ту же должность после отставки, пишет «Известия». О похожем сценарии еще в начале июля писал «Коммерсантъ», отмечая, что Ковалеву нужно заручиться поддержкой «Единой России», чтобы выдвинуться от партии.
В соответствии с новым законом о выборах губернаторов, ушедший в отставку глава региона в следующие два года может снова бороться за пост губернатора только с разрешения президента.
