Аналитики компании STEP провели исследование рынка активности промышленного строительства в Петербурге. Согласно ему в городе за 2008-2012 годы было введно в эксплуатацию 186 промышленных объектов. Их общая площадь составила 1,8млн кв.м. Пик ввода новых объектов пришелся на 2010 и 2011 годы. Лидером по их вводу стал Выборгский район (14,7%). Далее следуют Кировский (12,4%), Колпинский (12%), Пушкинский (9,8%) и Курортный районы (8,7%). Наиболее активно в последнюю пятилетку в Петербурге развивался автомобильный кластер, на который пришлось 26,5% всех построенных за последние пять лет промышленных площадей города.
