Евросоюз пригрозил ввести санкции против Панамы и других стран с низким уровнем налоговой отчетности, пишет The Washington Post. Об этом заявил европейский комиссар по экономическим и финансовым вопросам, налогообложению и таможенному союзу Пьер Московиси.
Еврокомиссар отметил, что санкции будут введены в случае отказа стран от полного содействия в борьбе с отмыванием денег и уклонением от уплаты налогов.
«Суммы денег, юрисдикции и имена, связанные с этим делом, откровенно шокируют», — сказал еврокомиссар.
Московиси также выразил надежду на то, что власти Панамы «переосмыслят свою позицию» отказа от сотрудничества с ЕС по налоговым вопросам. При этом чиновник предупредил, что в случае отказа принять необходимые меры Брюссель будет вынужден ввести против Панамы соответствующие санкции.
Ранее Пьер Московиси заявил, что ЕС необходимо в течение полугода составить общий черный список «налоговых гаваней» и быть готовым наложить на них санкции.
