В интервью агентству «Reuters» Шевцов сказал: «Мы с вероятностью 99,9 % вообще не ждем с этой стороны никаких проблем». При том банкир добавил, что ЦБ рассматривает более вероятным принятие США решения по сокращению дефицита бюджета в долгосрочной перспективе.
Ранее первый заместитель председателя ЦБ РФ Алексей Улюкаев заявлял, что не опасается наступления технического дефолта США по своим обязательствам. Он также не советовал неквалифицированным инвесторам в России избавляться от доллара.
Между тем, в финансовом ведомтсве США заявляют, что технический дефолт может наступить после 2 августа, если конгресс не проголосует за повышение «потолка» госдолга.
