В немецком доме престарелых в курортном городке Бад-Файльбах на 92-м году жизни скончался нацистский преступник Иван Демянюк, сообщает РБК со ссылкой на AP.
Иван Грозный, как называли надсмотрщика узники концлагерей, в 2011-м мюнхенским судом был признан виновным в соучастии в массовых расправах над узниками концлагеря Собибор в Польше в годы Второй мировой войны и приговорен к пяти годам лишения свободы.
Немецкая прокуратура требовала приговорить бывшего эсэсовца к 6 годам лишения свободы, однако суд учел престарелый возраст подсудимого и разрешил ему остаться на свободе до окончания рассмотрения апелляции по делу.
Вину бывшего надсмотрщика, служившего в концлагерях Майданек, Собибор, Флоссенбюрг, удалось доказать благодаря обнаружению удостоверения СС, выписанного на имя Демьянюка. Ранее обвинение строилось на многочисленных свидетельствах бывших узников концлагерей, однако документальных свидетельств зверств украинца обнаружить не удавалось.
Демьянюк был призван в ряды Красной армии в 1940-м и спустя два года, в мае 1942-го, попал в немецкий плен в ходе боев в Крыму. Украинца отправили в лагерь для военнопленных в Хелме, где он был завербован в качестве «хиви» – добровольного помощника вермахта. Демьянюк был на хорошем счету у нацистов: после прохождения курса обучения в концлагере он принес присягу СС и был отправлен на работу в Майданек. Масштаб преступлений украинца в этом концлагере установить не удалось.
С марта по сентябрь 1943 г. Демьянюк работал охранником в концлагере Собибор, после этого был переведен в баварский концлагерь Флоссенбюрг. В 1944-м недолгое время служил в рядах Русской освободительной армии генерала Андрея Власова, а по окончании войны обратился в лагерь для беженцев в Ландсхуте, где получил от американской администрации материальную помощь как жертва фашистского режима. Недолгое время работал в Германии, а затем эмигрировал в США.
Обвинения против Демьянюка были выдвинуты в конце 1970-х гг., однако тогда ему инкриминировали убийство 100 тысяч евреев в лагере Треблинка. Впоследствии гособвинителям удалось установить причастность Демьянюка к преступлениям, совершенным и в других лагерях. В 1988-м Демьянюк был приговорен к смертной казни судом в Израиле, куда его экстрадировали из США по запросу Тель-Авива, но в 1993-м был оправдан. Германии подозреваемый был выдан американскими властями в марте 2009-го после обнаружения удостоверения эсэсовца.
