По данным источника, Сафаров подал рапорт об уходе по собственному желанию еще несколько дней назад. Это связано с ЧП в отделе полиции «Дальний» столицы Татарстана города Казань, где истязали задержанного мужчину.
Ранее Асгат Сафаров заявлял, что не снимает с себя вины за произошедшее и что он готов понести любое наказание. Он руководил МВД Татарстана с 1998 года.
