Ранее, до сегодняшнего дня Озода Рахмон исполняла обязанности первого заместителя министра иностранных дел Таджикистана.
В 2009 году старшая дочь таджикского президента Озода Рахмон была назначена заместителем министра иностранных дел. Ее муж — заместитель министра финансов Таджикистана. Рустам Эмомали, старший сын президента занимает должность начальника управления в Государственном комитете по инвестициям и имуществу Таджикистана.
Ранее парламент Таджикистана разрешил президенту переизбираться неограниченное количество раз.
