Как заявил еврокомиссар по вопросам налогообложения Альгирдас Семета, «банковской тайны в ЕС больше нет».
В соответствии с законом, банки всех стран ЕС будут обязаны отсылать данные клиентов налоговым властям той страны, гражданином которой он является.
Цель такой меры, предпринятой в ЕС — обеспечить прозрачность налоговой системы в Европе.
Закон вступит в силу во всех странах Евросоюза, кроме Австрии, в 2017 году. Власти Австрии попросили годовую отсрочку, чтобы создать систему обмена информацией с банками.
