16 апреля представитель Германии в правлении ЕЦБ Йорг Асмуссен заявил, что Европа «выполнила свою часть» работы по защите мировой экономики от финансовых потрясений. «Теперь стоит ожидать, чтобы другие страны – члены МВФ внесли свой вклад в увеличение ресурсов МВФ», – отметил Асмуссен.
