В сообщении Еврокомиссии говорится, что ни одно из этих государств не отвечает критериям, необходимым для перехода на евро. Ситуация по этим странам будет пересмотрена через два года.
В то же время, Еврокомиссия рекомендовала принять Литву в еврозону с 1 января 2015 года. Для того, чтобы перейти на евро, страна должна иметь дефицит бюджета не выше 3% ВВП, а ее госдолг не должен превышать 60% ВВП.
В Евросоюз на сегодня входят 28 стран, 18 из них используют евро в качестве валюты.
