В первый день заседания подсудимый признал свою вину по ряду инкриминируемых ему статей УК, в частности, в уничтожении государственного военного имущества, а также в незаконном приобретении и ношении оружия.
30 мая на погранзаставе в Алма-Атинской области погибли 15 человек — 14 военнослужащих и егерь расположенного неподалеку охотничьего хозяйства, а сам пограничный пост сожжен.
