Премьер-министры Сирии и Ирана также осудили жест США. Иранский премьер Али Акбар Салехи заявил, что «США следует повлиять на оппозицию и заставить их сесть за стол переговоров». Премьер-министр Сирии Ваэль аль-Халки обвинил Вашингтон в двойных стандартах.
Ранее сообщалось, что власти США выделят оппозиции Сирии $60 млн помощи «в виде нелетального оборудования» — продовольствия и медикаментов.
