Роскомнадзор потребовал от компании Google прекратить использовать видеохостинг YouTube для «рекламирования незаконных массовых мероприятий». Как считают в ведомстве, реклама митингов распространялась с помощью push-уведомлений видеохостинга, которые приобретают у YouTube «ряд структур, имеющих YouTube-каналы». Также в Роскомнадзоре уверены, что такие push-уведомления поступают и юзерам, не подписанным на YouTube-каналы.
В ведомстве считают, что с помощью рекламы людей оповещают о несанкционированных митингах, в том числе «направленных на срыв выборов». В сообщении надзорного органа говорится, что ведомство «оставляет за собой право на адекватную реакцию» ответными мерами в случае, если Google не отреагирует. При этом отмечается, что если Google не станет вмешиваться в работу видеосервиса, Роскомнадзор будет расценивать как «вмешательство в суверенные дела государства, а также враждебное воздействие и воспрепятствование проведению демократических выборов в России».
YouTube — видеохостинговый сайт для хранения, доставки и показа видео, принадлежащий компании Google. На нем представлены фильмы, музыкальные клипы, новости и образовательные передачи и ведутся видеоблоги.
10 августа на проспекте Академика Сахарова в Москве прошла согласованная акция в поддержку оппозиционных кандидатов, которым отказали в регистрации для участия в выборах в Мосгордуму из-за обнаруженного брака в подписях. По данным проекта «Белый счетчик» в ней приняли участие 49,9 тыс. человек. За различные правонарушения после акции, по данным ОВД-инфо, были задержаны 256 человек.
Акция в поддержку незарегистрированных кандидатов в Мосгордуму состоялись и в других городах России. В частности в Петербурге на этой акции 10 августа были задержаны 79 человек.
