На Сенной площади ведутся работы по монтажу трамвайной стрелки, чтобы запустить трамвайный маршрут от Сенной до площади Репина по Садовой, сообщает «Фонтанка».
Пассажиров будут возить современные 30-метровые челночные трамваи. С помощью стрелки трамваи, следующие со стороны площади Репина, смогут попадать на противоположные пути для движения обратно. Машинист при этом будет переходить из одного конца состава в другой: именно такую возможность дают «челночники», имеющие две кабины. Предполагаются, что это будут трамваи белорусского завода «Белкоммунмаш», которые должны поступить в парк «Горэлектротранса» до конца года.
Последний раз регулярный трамвайный маршрут провез пассажиров по Садовой в 2007 году. С тех пор пути использовались техническими службами, а также для прогулок на ретросоставах.
