В Латвии состоялась инаугурация нового президента Андриса Берзиньша, сообщает Лента.ру
Выступая в Сейме, новый глава республики принес клятву, в которой пообещал работать на благо народа и сделать все возможное, чтобы улучшить экономическую ситуацию в стране.
На сегодняшний день запланирован еще ряд мероприятий, связанных с процедурой смены президента. Так, у Рижского замка состоится церемония смены почетного караула и символической передачи ключей от замка. Затем новый президент встретится со своим предшественником и работниками президентской канцелярии.
Инаугурационный бал Берзиньш, в отличие от своих предшественников, устраивать не будет.
Андрис Берзиньш родился в 1944 году. Окончил Рижский политехнический институт по специальности радиоинженера, впоследствии получил диплом экономического факультета Латвийского госуниверситета. В начале 1990-х годов он некоторое время занимался политикой. Позднее работал в сфере финансов: был президентом Latvijas Universala Banka (Unibanka), советником президента Skandinaviska Enskilda Bank, с 2006 года также руководил Латвийской торгово-промышленной палатой.
