Президент РФ Владимир Путин подписал закон, обеспечивающий деятельность военной полиции Вооруженных сил РФ, сообщает РИА Новости.
Военная полиция призвана защищать права военнослужащих, гражданского персонала, обеспечивать в Вооруженных силах законность, правопорядок, воинскую дисциплину, а также безопасность дорожного движения и охрану армейских объектов.
Руководство военной полицией осуществляет министр обороны РФ, структурно она входит в состав Вооруженных сил.
В законе говорится, что военная полиция имеет право применять физическую силу, спецсредства, огнестрельное оружие, боевую и специальную технику в случаях и в порядке, которые предусмотрены законами.
