В ходе авиаударов российских ВКС по позициям «Исламского государства» на севере Сирии погибли трое турецких военных и 11 ранены. Об этом сообщил вечером в четверг, 9 февраля, турецкий Генштаб, а позже официально подтвердили в Москве и Анкаре. Минобороны России также подтвердило факт непреднамеренного авиаудара.
Сообщается, что одна из бомб случайно попала в здание, где находились турецкие военнослужащие. Погибли три человека, 11 получили ранения. О степени их тяжести пока ничего не известно.
Российские официальные лица принесли соболезнования и заявили, что инцидент был непреднамеренным.
«Обе стороны продолжают расследование инцидента», — говорится в заявлении турецкого Генштаба.
Начальник Генштаба ВС России Валерий Герасимов провел телефонные переговоры со своим турецким коллегой Хулуси Акаром и выразил соболезнования в связи с произошедшим.
12 января Минобороны России и Генштаб Вооруженных сил Турции подписали меморандум о предотвращении инцидентов и обеспечении безопасности полетов авиации в ходе операций в Сирии.
