США намерены создать «широкую коалицию» для свержения режима президента Николаса Мадуро в Венесуэле. Об этом заявил советник президента США по нацбезопасности Джон Болтон в интервью CNN. По его словам, в коалицию должны войти все противники «нелегитимного» президента Николаса Мадуро, которые признают «временным президентом» лидера оппозиции Хуана Гуайдо. Болтон назвал «режим Мадуро» преступным и коррумпированным и пообещал не оставлять попытки по его свержению.
«Я бы хотел бы видеть коалицию, широкую настолько, насколько мы можем собрать, чтобы сменить сменить весь коррумпированный режим. Это мы и пытаемся сделать», — сказал он. «Это мой новый эксперимент в сфере публичной дипломатии. Он подчеркнул, что суть коалиции в том, чтобы «добиться поддержки мирной передачи власти от Мадуро к Гуаидо, которого считаем президентом».
Как отмечают политологи, фактически альянс, о создании которого объявил Болтон, уже существует — это те страны, которые поддержали самопровозглашённого президента Хуана Гуаидо. Напомним, после самопровозлашения Гуайдо, его полномочия признали США, Канада, многие страны Европы, почти вся Латинская Америка, кроме Мексики, Боливии и Уругвая, а также некоторые другие страны. Россия, Китай, Иран, Сирия — на стороне Мадуро.
Отметим также, что в своем интервью CNN Болтон впервые за последние годы заявил, что в Западном полушарии должна реально работать «доктрина Монро». Напомним, эта декларация, провозглашённая в 1823 году президентом США Джеймсом Монро, она закрепляет невмешательство европейских держав в дела государств Северной и Южной Америки. «Эта администрация не боится использовать фразу «Доктрина Монро», — сказал он. — Со времён Рональда Рейгана задачей американских президентов было получить полностью демократическое полушарие».
