В Ярославской области отменены прямые выборы мэров Ярославля и Рыбинска. За законопроект во втором чтении проголосовали 36 депутатов Ярославской областной думы, против высказались 7, воздержались 3. Об этом пишет «ЯрНовости».
Согласно новому закону, функции мэра будет исполнять председатель городского муниципалитета, а управлять мэрией будет нанятый по контракту человек.
Между тем противники новой избирательной системы заявляют о том, что муниципальные чиновники не учли мнения жителей, принимая этот законопроект. Сторонники инициативы, впрочем, уверены, что мнение жителей депутаты узнали, «постоянно встречаясь со своими избирателями во дворах».
Ранее Мосгорсуд продлил до 3 января срок ареста мэру Ярославля Евгению Урлашову. Политика обвиняют в вымогательстве крупной взятки у местного предпринимателя.
Мэр Рыбинска Юрий Ласточкин также обвиняется во взяточничестве и находится под арестом.
