Мэр Таллина Эдгар Сависаар задержан полицией безопасности страны по подозрению в неоднократном получении взяток, сообщает Delfi.
Согласно предъявленному Сависаару обвинению, в 2014-2015 годах он неоднократно брал взятки в виде имущества и льгот как в свою пользу, так и в пользу третьего лица в общей сложности на сумму в несколько сотен тысяч евро.
Сегодня также предъявили подозрение нескольким людям, которых подозревают в пособничестве получению взятки, даче взятки и посредничестве. По данным издания, среди арестованных по делу — председатель совета строительной компании Rand&Tuulberg Айвар Туульберг.
По информации издания, Эдгар Сависаар задержан и сейчас находится на своем хуторе Хундисильма, с ним его сын Эрки Сависаар и Сирет Котка. У хутора стоит реанимобиль с врачами скорой помощи.
Сирет Котка и Эрки Сависаар сказали Delfi, что после предъявления подозрения во взяточничестве им не удалось поговорить с Эдгаром Сависааром. По их словам, задержание мэра — политический заказ, цель которого состоит в том, чтобы отвлечь внимание от коррупционного скандала в Таллиннском порту.
