Президент Украины Виктор Янукович ликвидировал межведомственную комиссию по вопросам подготовки Украины к вступлению в НАТО указом от 2 апреля, сообщает пресс-служба главы государства.
Другим своим указом президент ликвидировал Национальный центр по вопросам евроатлантической интеграции и освободил Владимира Горбулина от исполнения обязанностей его председателя.
Напомним, бывший президент Виктор Ющенко создал национальный центр по вопросам евроатлантической интеграции в феврале 2006г., а межведомственную комиссию по подготовке Украины к вступлению в НАТО — в марте того же года.
Новое руководство Украины не раз заявляло, что вопрос вступления страны в НАТО не стоит на повестке дня. В то же время официальный Киев планирует сохранить существующий уровень сотрудничества с Североатлантическим альянсом.
В ходе предвыборной кампании В.Янукович неоднократно подчеркивал, что Украина будет внеблоковым государством. "Мы не будем вступать ни в какой военный блок. Это точка зрения украинского народа, которую нужно уважать, и с которой нужно считаться", — заявил он.
