Художественный руководитель театра Валерий Гергиев заявил сегодня журналистам: «Зритель должен привыкнуть свободно перемещаться между старой и новой сценами. Хотя есть предложение о немедленном начале реконструкции старой сцены, есть любители больших бюджетов. Но историческое здание Мариинского театра находится не в том состоянии, чтобы его немедленно закрывать на реконструкцию».
